Crosslink Launches Detoxification Development Project |
ST. LOUIS?(April 3, 2006)-Crosslink, a leader in the development and manufacturing of electroactive polymer technology, announced the launch of its second project at Missouri State University's Jordan Valley Innovation Center (JVIC) in Springfield, Mo.
A project for the Department of Defense, 'Self-Detoxifying Polymer Systems for Chemical and Biological Warfare Agents', commonly referred to as detoxification, will examine the use of a Crosslink smart coating to neutralize chemical and biological warfare agents on military clothing and gear.
"Our involvement with JVIC provides us with a unique opportunity to help stimulate economic growth and technology jobs in the Springfield area. At the same time, we gain access to top-notch manufacturing equipment and mutually beneficial relationships with other JVIC scientific partners," said Brent St. John, president and CEO of Crosslink.
Crosslink is one of the first four corporate participants at JVIC, and currently has two active projects at the facility. The company began its involvement with JVIC in August 2003, and will begin leasing building space in April 2007. Missouri State University founded JVIC to foster advanced manufacturing and create high-tech jobs in Springfield.
